Dark Souls III director wants to make sci-fi game next
“It is true that it will be a turning point but it’s still not the final game for the Dark Souls series”. Unlike Dark Souls II, for which Miyazaki had a supervisory role, the franchise creator is directly involved with Dark Souls III as the game’s director.
Hidetaka Miyazaki is unfazed by the challenge that comes with working on two highly-anticipated projects.
Speaking in an interview with GameSpot, Miyazaki extolled the virtues of the third entry in the Dark Souls series, but made this one interesting point. This allows Miyazaki enough time to concentrate on Bloodborne DLC. When I was doing Demon’s Souls, I was also working on Armored Core: For Answer.
“In the case of Bloodborne, although I was the lead game director, there was another director level person that also contributed”. Not only is he acting as the director on both Dark Souls III and the Bloodborne DLC, but he’s already talking about new games after that.
Miyazaki said that whichever project has his name on it, will be of high quality. This isn’t the first time I’ve had to work on two projects at the same time.
The gameplay videos shown during the event attempt to give fans and players a clearer picture of how battling will be in “Dark Souls 3″.
The idea of a sci-fi version of Dark Souls has come up a number of times in fan discussions, with a Giger-esque setting seeing particularly apt.
