Dasuki: DSS arrests former NSA
Once again, former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, has been arrested by the Department of State Service.
According to Premium Times, Yuguda was arrested in Abuja Monday afternoon, November 30, and has been questioned by detectives.
Others nabbed by the EFCC, in the same alleged theft of funds meant for procuring weapons for soldiers, were Sagir Bafarawa, the son of former Sokoto State governor Attahiru Bafarawa and a director in the office of the former NSA, Shuaibu Salisu.
Some of the monies allegedly traced to Ambassador Bashir include 1.2 billion Naira paid to him by the office of the NSA through a company and for unclear reasons.
“The suspects may not be allowed to go home soon”, one source disclosed.
When contacted, the Head, Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said he was yet to be briefed on the arrests.
Recently Dasuki denied ever receiving any formal or informal invitation to appear before an Investigative Panel on the Procurement of hardware and munitions in the armed forces.
Dasuki has denied the allegations of corruption against him, saying that former President Goodluck Jonathan approved all the contracts that were awarded by his office, but the former president denied giving such approvals.
In Washington last week, Jonathan said his government never awarded any contract in the range of $2 billion dollars. I even though the committee was to investigate procurement from 2007 to 2015. Read his story here!
