Data Says Pokemon Go Craze could be Over
So much has happened since the launch of Pokemon Go. It managed to take over Candy Crush’s records, as the most popular app. As reported by Game N Guide, the House of Representative of the United States has sent Niantic a letter about massive complains regarding the sudden hike of data consumption based on players experience.
Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game developed by Niantic Labs for iOS and Android. Since then, Pokemon Go’s user base has dropped to just over 30 million, for a 22.7% drop. An average user is a person who plays these game at least once in a week.
“Pokemon Go” has been the most downloaded mobile app in the past month and it is being enjoyed by millions of players from different countries at present time. According toVerto Analytics, even the most popular mobile games only retain about 30% of players a week after they first download the game.
Some critics of “Pokemon Go” have claimed that the drop is a clear sign that players are now starting to get uninterested to it anymore. The “Insta-PokeGo” offers players a almost 100% automated Pokemon Go experience where it will not only catch Pokemon and visit PokeStops automatically, it also offers a Global Positioning System spoofing service that allows players to travel around the world to catch region-exclusive Pokemon like Kangaskhan and Mr. Mime. “For comparison’s sake, Pokemon Go’s retention rate was at almost 60% during the game’s peak in mid July”.
The possibility of the USA government to permanently ban Pokemon GO in their country is close to reality.
The gaming website advised Niantic that it the company wants to avert the decline in users, it must continue to find way “to keep players engaged as they fill up their Pokedex and run out of places to explore in their community”.
