Dave Franco Returning For Bad Neighbours 2
Dave Franco is the latest Neighbors star to sign on for the 2014 comedy’s sequel, according to The Wrap.
The “21 Jump Street” actor will reprise his role as an ill-willed fraternity brother and a nuisance of a neighbor, along with Zac Efron. And considering that the entire third act of the original Neighbors revolved around Byrne getting sucked into the cyclone of nocturnal collegiate shenanigans, a sorority-themed sequel will likely take those all-girl party scenes and crank them up to 11.
Seth Rogen and Zac Efron are set to return for “Neighbors 2” as well, with Chloe Moretz joining the cast. Attempts to solve the problem amicably don’t work out, and a full-on prank war erupts. The plot is being kept under wraps, but sources tell THR it involves a sorority that the new castmembers will be members of. Carla Gallo and Ike Barinholtz are back to play the Radners’ friends, Paula and Jimmy.
Rogen, Goldberg and James Weaver will return to produce under their Point Grey banner, while Cohen and O’Brien will serve as executive producers alongside Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake.
Nicholas Stoller is back in the director’s chair, working off a script he co-wrote with Andrew Jay Cohen, Brendan O’Brien, Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
Most recently, Franco appeared in Unfinished Business, which was released in March 2015.
Neighbors 2 hits theaters on May 20, 2016.
