David Beckham and John Boyega get into a lightsaber fight

One cinemagoer who had gone to see the film on Thursday night said: “Everyone cheered whenever John Boyega did something cool”.

If David Beckham and Kylie Minogue weren’t A-list enough, they were joined by Star Wars stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Carrie Fisher. John Boyega made surprise appearances at several “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” screenings, and his fans went wild over seeing Finn in the flesh! “This is big. I feel the love”. Boyega wanted the director to think he was actually out doing something, so he told Abrams that he was at an art gallery.

“David Beckham, you have met your match”, Boyega, who obviously has a ton of lightsaber training, said, in a serious-but-not-so-serious tone. “When we’re out, he gets recognized so much that I’m literally known as Brooklyn’s dad now”, he began to explain. They’re stupid, and I’m not going to lose sleep over people. It’s not anything to do with the story; it’s just seeing your character’s name consistently coming up in a script for a film that is Star Wars!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opened in cinemas worldwide last week, receiving both critical and public acclaim so far.

Disney has announced Star Wars: Episode VIII is due to hit cinema screens on 26 May, 2017.
