David Beckham’s tip to win the Champions League have literally no chance
He may have shaken off his reputation for not being the brightest player in the game in recent years, but David Beckham is still prone to a footballing gaffe.
Beckham, who is now officially wealthier than the Royal Family, was greeted by thousands of delighted fans as he opened his new adidas store at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai.
“Spending a few time here today, it was great to get a sense of the energy people have for sport”.
When asked who he thought would win the Champions League this season, Beckham paused before offering his insight: “I’m going to have to say Man Utd, PSG or AC Milan – one of those three”.
Beckham added: “One of those three I’d like to see win but when you’re in the Champions League, you realise how important this competition is in football and it’s one of the best competitions to actually play in and definitely to win”. After meeting David Beckham, Lodhi said, “Beckham is my idol, it was wonderful to meet him”. I’m not a Manchester United fan but everyone loves watching Beckham. “Today was my birthday so we just talked about that, and he wished me happy birthday”. He’s always been my role model.
Yep. This was not such a great moment for one of the most revered – albeit high-pitched with a lazy London drawl – voices in football. Amal Aal Rabeea member of the UAE national football team and coach of Zayed University ladies team also met Beckham at the adidas store.
