David Bowie ‘curated his death’ through music, says photographer Annie Leibovitz

Blackstar is David Bowie’s final release, but the recently departed artist was in the early stages of preparing another album, according to a new Rolling Stone interview with his longtime producer Tommy Visconti. And he wanted to do it his way and he wanted to do it the best way.

The concert was scheduled months ago as part of a tour, but only sold out after Bowie’s death.

With no official comment available, David Bowie’s place of death remains a mystery, as do funeral arrangements. The album was released just two days before Bowie’s death.

“The cast didn’t know all that time, and I suspect that the musicians with whom he recorded ‘Blackstar” didn’t know either.

On Amazon, the three top selling albums are all by Bowie.

Singer Tina Turner is the latest celebrity to pay tribute to Bowie, saying “a piece of my heart has broken”. An icon. Irreplaceable loving friend.

An emotional Fallon also started The Tonight Show discussing Bowie, by sharing stories of how he traded jokes with the “Ziggy Stardust” singer over email and how fans should check out his latest album, Blackstar.

The likes of Mick Jagger, Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John are said to be among the names invited to play in the tribute.

Kate Moss led the celebrity tributes to David Bowie on Monday in her own, stylish way.

When the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, passed away, it was shown on television and was filled with performances and tributes from artists including Usher Raymond.

“I had no idea he was close to death”.

The David Bowie Channel will launch on Tuesday, January 12th at 7 pm ET and will run through Monday, January 18th via satellite on SiriusXM’s The Loft, channel 30.
