David Bowie’s ex-wife Angie breaks down after hearing his death
“If I stay I look callous”, she said as she was once again overcome with tears. Just two days earlier, he’d turned 69 years old and released his 26th album, “Blackstar”.
A midweek update from the charts company has revealed that “Blackstar” is now holding its own on the number one spot, while albums including his 2014 release “Nothing Has Changed” (currently sat at number seven), are also set to feature in the final countdown.
Sitting in the Diary Room, an emotional Angie said: “I haven’t seen him for so many years”.
“Obviously this is a very sad day”, O’Brien told his audience. I’ll be offline for a while.
At the musical’s NY premiere on December 7, few knew that anything was amiss.

Highlighting how secret Bowie kept his illness, long-time collaborator and friend Brian Eno said his death came as “a complete surprise”.
“Iman always told the story in such a charming way”, she began, captioning the photo of Bowie and Iman cradling a baby.
“We will take to the grave the moments we shared; talking, playing music and collaborating as some of the most profound and memorable moments of our lives”.
Lazarus lead Michael C. Hall said none of the cast knew about his condition, but thought Bowie was delivering a clear message in his “Lazarus” video.
“The other thing I would say is that if you feel safe in the area you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area”.
