David Bowie’s wife, Iman, shares great moments before husband’s death

The official news of Bowie’s death was posted on his official social media account his morning.

His son, film director Duncan Jones, confirmed his father’s passing just before 11 p.m. on Sunday.

The singer/songwriter and producer was born in Brixton, London by the name of David Robert Jones in 1947. Bowie excelled in pop, hard rock, dance pop, punk and metal.

Few knew when David Bowie released “Blackstar” on Friday that it would be his final album – but it is a mysterious and sombre testament which critics hailed as his best work in years. It shot to no. 1 on the iTunes chart in the United Kingdom and no. 2 in the USA, underscoring his appeal even after decades in the music business. He changed to Bowie to avoid confusion with Davy Jones, the lead singer of the Monkees, which was enjoying serious pop success at the time.

In his career, he is believed to have sold more than 140 million albums. A hero for so much more than just one day.
