David Luiz “hopes” that Angel di Maria will join Paris Saint-Germain
Manchester United have agreed to sell Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of £44.2 million, according to reports.
After days of negotiation, the protracted Di Maria transfer saga appears to be nearing an end.
Meanwhile, United manager Louis van Gaal admitted he has no idea as to the winger’s whereabouts.
“I don’t know where he is, ” the United boss said.
“I like that and I ask for that, especially from Memphis”.
Les Parisiens were linked to Di Maria last summer, but United beat them to the player who now, only a year on, is set to move to Laurent Blanc’s side.
Reports in France claim PSG will pay around 65 million euros (£46million) for the Argentina global, who failed to settle at United a year ago.
Then, in February, Di Maria moved out of his Cheshire home after an attempted burglary at the property. But Di Maria is just excellent.
But Van Gaal said, “I’m really satisfied about the performance”.
A combination of David de Gea, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw fail to properly deal with a speculative long ball and Blaise Matuidi capitalises…
Speaking with the press after the game, the United manager said about the Spanish goalkeeper “we have a situation that is not favourable for us or the club”. “It’s the same question as your predecessor”.
Asked why Di Maria hadn’t joined the tour, he said: “I don’t want to answer that but you can keep asking”, Van Gaal was quoted saying by the Daily Mail.
Van Gaal refused to chastise his players for their weak defensive showing in Illinois.
He was voted man of the match in Real Madrid’s Champions League final win over Atletico Madrid a few months earlier and was named in the World Cup team of the tournament soon after.
The Dutchman and his squad flew back to Manchester directly after the game in Chicago.
“But he’s 20-years-old. How many players of that age are playing in the Premier League?”
