David Lynch to set record straight in biography
Legendary director David Lynch is working on a new book, which has been described as a cross between a memoir and a biography.
In the book, Lynch will “truly open up for the first time” about his lifetime of creativity, the friendships he has made, and the struggles he has faced to bring his projects to fruition. Lynch will “read these remembrances and respond – essentially riffing on his own life”.
He said in a statement, “There’s a lot of bullshit out there about me, in books and all over the Internet”.
The acclaimed director and musician’s Life and Work is expected sometime in 2017 via United Kingdom publisher Canongate. This is a major event.
Lynch’s credits include the films “Blue Velvet“, “Eraserhead” and “The Straight Story” and the TV drama “Twin Peaks”.
With Twin Peaks’ quarter-century-later third season now filming and anticipated to debut on Showtime in 2016, David Lynch has been consistently back in the headlines – which likely means he’s experiencing a surge of what he calls “bullshit” being written about him. Lynch has enlisted the help of United States journalist Kristine McKenna to write the book, Life and Work.
No word yet on a release date for “Life And Work”, but I’d wager it’s still a couple of years away.
