Days in to Poll, Democrat Clinton holds lead, albeit slender, over Trump
“I have not the slightest doubt that millions of people voted for Trump despite their understanding that he is a racist and a sexist”. I see it as momentum, as the system of control’s foundations get weaker, it’s up to us to stay the course, to stay true as people and demand what we want, to start consciously being open to change and look within our hearts to create the world we all know is possible. Who knows. It doesn’t make much sense to me to be looking backward. Clinton represents the moderate, neoliberal version of the Democratic Party that’s been around for the last several decades or so, while Sanders champions a much more radical, anti-plutocratic form of liberalism.
President-elect Donald Trump promised to reject the deal during his campaign, so efforts to secure its approval in Congress have effectively ended.
It’s an ‘absurdity that the entire campaign is played out in 15 states, ‘ Sanders argued.
“The Trump-Hillary race was its own phenomenon, frankly, and is not likely to be repeated”, Groen said.
Only white people had the luxury and the safety to ignore Trump’s promises to restore law and order, to deport millions of immigrants and to endanger Americans who practice the world’s second most popular religion. The GOP would lose the Senate, possibly the House and suffer defeat after defeat right down to the state level. When you lose the House.
Eighty-two percent (82%) of Republicans and 54% of voters not affiliated with either major political party think it is time for Clinton to retire. When you’ve lost some 900 seats in legislatures around the country in the last eight years, ‘ he said, heaping it on. “Capitol Hill doesn’t understand it – we do”. Yeah, they talk to you and say ‘I refuse, ‘ and you throw it away or they won’t talk to you at all. “You can’t tell working people you’re on their side and at the same time raise money from Wall Street and the billionaire class”, he said recently.
“Our job is to hold him accountable”, Sanders said, “and we intend to do that”.
Bannon is the former chairman of Breitbart News, a website that Bannon himself called “the platform for the alt-right”, a loose movement of the far right whose followers traffic variously in white nationalism, anti-immigration sentiment, anti-Semitism and a disdain for “political correctness”.
While Bannon’s west wing job doesn’t require Senate confirmation, Merkley was asked by CNN if he would be sorry not to have the supermajority filibuster if Trump had named Bannon attorney general or some other top sensitive position that requires Senate approval. Recreational Marijuana passed in just about every state that had it on the ballot, Colorado, Maine and others voted to increase the minimum wage, Nevada voted overwhelmingly in favor of expanding firearm background checks, Californians voted in favor of introducing a measure to review the Citizens United Supreme Court case, and Arkansas became the first bible-belt state to approve medical marijuana.
Sanders’ popularity was on display Wednesday night.
Sanders added, ‘The majority of people in this nation are not racist, not sexist, not homophobes.
Like Sanders, Trump ran on a populist, anti-establishment message. Democrats still won three statewide races – for treasurer, auditor general and attorney general – and Republicans can not count on another such embrace by middle- and working-class voters, Groen said.”The Trump-Hillary race was its own phenomenon, frankly, and is not likely to be repeated”, Groen said.
On that, and a host of other issues of concern to financially strapped Americans, such as the cost of prescription drugs, Sanders said “we’ll find out soon enough” if Trump’s promises were honest.
