DC fans Vs Rotten Tomatoes: Dawn of misguided vigilante justice
Cara Delevingne, who portrays the character of Enchantress in the Suicide Squad movie, feels that the critics have been truly horrific when it comes to their thoughts on the film.
Uh oh. The much-hyped Suicide Squad is taking a beating from critics.
“The critics have been absolutely horrific, they’re really, really frightful”.
“Positive takes on it include Mark Hughes of Forbes saying, “[It] takes the superhero genre in a new direction, letting the bad guys be bad guys even while they’re forced into service for supposed ‘good.'”, and Brian Truitt of USA Today calling it, “an excellently quirky, proudly raised middle finger to the staid superhero-movie establishment”.
She also explained that though the movie “isn’t ideal”, it did not deserve the reviews it got. He really believes that there are people who had specific expectations about the movie and sometimes those are not met or end up being different from what ends up on screen.
“Suicide Squad” writer and director David Ayer also defended the movie.
The reviews have led to a poor rating of 34 percent on Rotten Tomatoes for the Warner Bros. movie. The website doesn’t review films themselves, instead opting to collect reviews from both top and amateur critics.
It can be safely said at this point that Suicide Squad is not and will never be a critics film. Even the recent remake of Ghostbusters has garnered outrage from fans. After thinking. I found this petition pointless. “Obviously we worked hard and tried to give the fans what they wanted”.
“A lot of people. act like we are already going right now to shut down the site.it’s just a way to express our anger”, it reads. This is of course insane, go to the film, if you like it great, if you don’t like it, fine.
A petition on Change.org titled “Shutdown Rotten Tomatoes” has now received over 9,000 supporters, just shy of its goal of 10,000.
Starring Will Smith, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie as a band of deadly criminals recruited to execute risky black-ops missions, the film has an average critical score of 4.9 out of 10.
Despite the reviews, the film is expected to gross $125 million in North America alone when it opens this weekend, according to box office analysts.
