De Blasio security officer shot with pellet gun
A female NYPD officer, assigned to NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s security detail, was shot in the back Sunday night outside Gracie Mansion, the mayor’s official residency, police said.
James Keivom/New York Daily News Mayor de Blasio and his wife, Chirlane McCray, were not home when a cop was hit with a pellet outside Gracie Mansion Sunday night.
The officer determined that she was shot in the back with a pellet gun, a source said.
A police spokesman says the officer was exiting an unmarked police auto when she “felt ache within the decrease again”. Two 19 year-olds, a man and young woman, were taken into custody after the incident and are being questioned.
The officer suffered a minor injury and was transported to Lenox Hill Hospital for treatment. No fees have been filed.
Authorities said there have been two previous reports of apparent BBs or pellets causing damage to windows in the area, on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
