De Bruyne decides as City offer stunning wage
De Bruyne left Chelsea last year after a largely unsuccessful spell at Stamford Bridge, but he proved a huge success in the Bundesliga and successfully rebuilt his reputation having been crowned the league’s Player of the Year last season.
Kevin De Bruyne has agreed personal terms with Manchester City, with the deal to make the Belgian Manuel Pellegrini’s fifth major acquisition of the summer now dependent on the club offering a fee that is acceptable to Wolfsburg. Talented youngster Patrick Roberts also joined the club in a £12m move from Championship side Fulham, while 18-year-old Turk Enes Unal joined in a £2m transfer from Bursaspor.
At an awards ceremony on Monday, De Bruyne insisted he will stay at Wolfsburg this season, but the German club face an anxious wait until the transfer window closes on August 31 with City seemingly determined to get their man.
Both coach Dieter Hecking and now Allofs have said the Belgium worldwide will be available for the trip to the RheinEnergieStadion, but refused to confirm anything else – even though Manchester City are set to seal a £50 million deal for the 24-year-old’s services.
‘Kevin is a bit exhausted at the moment because there is so much happening around him.
“I don’t talk about rumours,” he told Sky.
‘He finds himself in a situation that is on his mind all the time, just like it has been over the past few weeks.
“All our planning assume that Kevin is in the squad, he is fit and that he can play”.
