DE Tuaua could return for TCU
TCU coach Gary Patterson confirmed late Wednesday that defensive end Mike Tuaua is back on the team and practicing 10 days after he was arrested for assault and robbery.
As far as the criminal charges go, reports say that the case has not been forwarded to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office for prosecution.
“For both my student-athletes and the other students, I’m just sad that the situation happened”, Patterson said.
It was unclear whether either would play in Saturday’s game against the University of Texas. “Hopefully my guys learn from it”, Patterson said, according to the (Fort Worth) Star-Telegram.
Tuaua would likely start if he’s available with TCU missing two defensive ends.
TCU announced the suspensions of Tuaua and Petties-Wilson on September 21, the day they were arrested and more than two weeks after the September 4 incident. The players had missed three games total and still face potential legal charges. Tuaua had three tackles and half of a sack against Minnesota in the opener before being suspended for his role in the incident that took place on September 4.
