Dead woman found in Ohio city where others disappeared
Police in a southern Ohio city say they’ve made an arrest in connection with the death of a woman who was found dangling from a chain-link fence.
Police at a news conference Wednesday said the cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma injuries to the head and neck.
“In conversations with police officers, Cochenour admitted to a physical altercation with the woman at or near the place where she was found dead”, Rutherford said, reports the station. Tips reportedly led police to make an arrest within hours. The cases spurred the creation of a task force including Chillicothe police and the Ross County sheriff’s office, the FBI, state investigators and other local law enforcement.
Donnie Cochenour Jr. has been charged with murder in the death of the woman whose body was found Tuesday morning in Chillicothe. And where I could see you couldn’t tell if it was male or female, or what it was. “We need our residents to help us”. And one thing we’re not going to do: we’re never going to reveal our source. Washburn said it appeared she fought her attacker.
Municipal Court Judge Toni Eddy set Cochenour’s bond at $2 million.
Perhaps the youngest victim of this tragedy is Cade’s 15-month-old Bryan. She took both Cade and Bryan home with her from the hospital after he was born, his underdeveloped body wracked with symptoms from fetal alcohol syndrome.
A friend who lived with Cade for a couple years said she is scared and saddened by the violence.
“She didn’t want to eat”. She’d come by and Hughes would take her to the store – and she seemed OK and didn’t mention having trouble with anyone.
Hughes’ brother is the child’s father.
“He was about 8 or 9 months old when I was granted full custody”, she said.
So when a friend called Hughes on Tuesday and told her she thought Cade was the woman who was killed along Brownell Road earlier that day, Hughes wasn’t altogether shocked. Yet she wrestled with demons that kept her from being a mother.
The woman’s body dangled as her sleeve was caught high on the fence.
Rebecca Cade, time and again, tried to piece her broken life back together.
“I hope she knew that”. And it kept going straight to voicemail.
Wednesday, her fears were confirmed.
“She was always telling me that she loves him and misses him”.
