‘Deadwood’ Movie Might Finally Happen After All

We have to think at the moment that a “Deadwood” movie would be very well-received, and would get HBO some goodwill in the process.

HBO might finally be working on giving us the Deadwood series finale movie we have been waiting nearly 10 years to get. Since the show ended back in 2006, fans have regularly clamoured for some kind of closure for the series, and it may just be that those wishes are about to be answered.
Still, Hollywood loves a comeback story and Milch, himself, has hinted at the possibility of a “Deadwood” revival.
HBO had previously announced two movies when it cancelled the show in 2008, but nothing ever came of them.
“I don’t know that the last word has been said on the subject”, he told Esquire in 2011.
The campaign to bring back the cult show that starred Ian McShane and Timothy Olyphant plus an ensemble cast playing historical figures such as Seth Bullock, Al Swearengen, Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane and Wyatt Earp, was sparked by Dillahunt, who tweeted the idea.
