DeAngelo Williams has ankle sprain, considered day to day
Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams suffered a leg injury on Sunday that sent him to the locker room and the team quickly announced that he was questionable to return with a right ankle injury.
“He’s a talented and hard-working guy”, said Tomlin about Toussaint.
The teams split two hotly-contested matchups this season.
On Tuesday, Tomlin told reporters that Williams is still being evaluated and getting treatment, and that his status remains uncertain.
“We’ve had our ups and downs, but that’s a resilient group and equally important is that it’s a tight group and they stayed together”, coach Mike Tomlin said. He has truly eased the pain of the Steelers and their fans when they lost RB Le’Veon Bell for the season back in Week 8.
Brown surpassed Marvin Harrison for the most catches in a two year span (265).
One of the issues that arose in last year’s playoff game with the absence of Bell was the inability of both Harris and Tate to be assets in the passing attack.
Over the last two years, these two backup RBs have combined for just 238 rushing yards.
“The blame for the franchise doing so poorly lays right here with me, because at the end of the day it’s our job to put the right people in the right place and provide them with the resources”, Haslam said. I feel there’s a good, young nucleus here. “I think it’s just more appropriate that we show you how we perform moving forward”.
SEARCH STARTED: With help from a consulting firm, Haslam intends to first hire his new coach and then find a GM.
“We are not happy with just winning the AFC South”, Houston wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins said. Among the coaching candidates expected to receive interviews this week are Detroit defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, Chicago offensive coordinator Adam Gase and Jacksonville offensive assistant Doug Marrone.
Following Sunday’s game, the 50-year-old Pettine said he understood change was looming – and inevitable.
“As I have said before, it should be a topic of speculation, given what our results have been”. That’s the kind of guy you want to play for.
The Browns, trailing 14-9 in the third quarter, had a chance to take a lead after linebacker Craig Robertson intercepted a pass by Roethlisberger.
In that Week 17 game, Ben Roethlisberger played great as he threw for 317 yards and 2 touchdowns. While his star quarterback was sidelined for a quarter of the season, Brown only registered 235 yards. From age, to height, weight and experience (among other things), Belichick created a blueprint for the ideal player a team would want at every position.
WHERE’S JOHNNY?: The Browns couldn’t confirm a report that quarterback Johnny Manziel was in Las Vegas.
