Debris found in North Salem after small plane vanishes, authorities say
Bill Flynn told The Journal News that officials confirmed that a small aircraft disappeared near the Titicus Reservoir in North Salem, New York.
NY State Police believe debris found this morning in the Titicus Reservoir in North Salem are from a plane that went missing Thursday afternoon while en route to Danbury Airport.
The number of passengers riding the plane or where it originated is unknown. The plane is said to have lost contact with the airport around 4 p.m.
“It could be anywhere”, Flynn said.
Authorities say divers from the state police and the Department of Environmental Protection resumed searching the reservoir Friday morning.
The Yorktown Heights Fire Department wrote on its Facebook page that it was assisting in the search.
The plane vanished near the Titicus Reservoir in North Salem, New York, which is about 20 minutes from Danbury, NBC reports.
