Dele Alli signs new Tottenham Hotspur deal
Tottenham Hotspur breakthrough star Dele Alli has signed a new five-year contract tying him to White Hart Lane until 2021, the Premier League club announced on Tuesday.
Tottenham have moved to tie down their best home-grown products in recent months with Harry Kane, Ryan Mason, Nabil Bentaleb and Eric Dier all signing new deals.
He made his debut against Manchester United on the season’s opening day and has made 26 appearances in all competitions.
He has also broken into the senior England set-up and scored his first worldwide goal in the 2-0 victory over France in November.
He won promotion with the Dons before linking up with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad and immediately forcing his way into the team.
Alli has been revelation since arriving in the summer from MK Dons.
“When I signed here I wanted to play for Tottenham and I wasn’t thinking of going anywhere else at the time”, he said.
“I’m delighted”, Alli told the club’s official website. I am really happy to be here.
“It wasn’t easy to break in but we have a great bunch of boys, I can’t thank them all enough. I’ve still got a lot to do and can’t think of any other place where I can do that”.
