Delhi CM office not searched, no irrelevant material seized: CBI
Kejriwal accused the CBI of searching his office and conducting a raid in it along with his Principal Secretary Rajender Kumar over corruption charges. The AAP today put “five specific” questions to the finance minister relating to its allegations of corruption in Delhi’s cricket body DDCA under his watch and accused him of giving “vague” response to the charges.
The IAS officer arrived at the CBI building at around 9.40 AM for the questioning in connection with the case registered against him and six others on December 14.
Refuting Kejriwal’s allegation on the raid on Chief Minister’s office, the CBI has said that the raid was conducted on the Principal Secretary’s office following a warrant.
Kejriwal claimed his office too was raided, a charge denied by CBI as well as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in Rajya Sabha where the Opposition created an uproar.
“(Delhi CM) Seems to believe in untruth and defamation, delivered in a language that borders on hysteria”, Jaitley wrote. Finding himself acting as a shield to cover an officer under investigation, the Delhi Chief Minister has attempted to focus attention on me. The Aam Aadmi Party victory was seen as a significant loss to Modi’s ruling party, the Bharatiya Janata Party. The CBI has already clarified that office of Chief Minister was neither searched nor sealed.
“Blatant incorrect information is being spread by certain quarters since yesterday to discredit the agency with the intent to obstruct investigation”, Ms Singh said. The CBI denied entering his room.
“When Modi cudn’t handle me politically, he resorts to this cowardice”, Kejriwal wrote.
Kejriwal, who re-tweeted Bedi’s remark, said: “Good point”. Kejriwal again re-tweeted and said: “Agree”.
“They were constantly in touch with their superiors and were also taking instructions from them while examining documents and files”, Rawat said.
