Although the party has 12 dalit MLAs, about eight-nine MLAs could be in the race to replace Kumar. “We will close the party, die, but not compromise on anything”, he said.
Demanding an investigation into the matter, Kumar dubbed the CD episode as “hoax”, while alleging that it was a conspiracy against him.

“Today if I can act against my own, my minister then you can rest assured that I will act against others too”.

Sources say the party, which has often encouraged its members to carry out sting operations to expose wrongdoing, is examining the CD and trying to establish if this was an act of political vendetta or internal disgruntlement.
