Fourteen people were sent to the hospital after an incident on a carnival ride at the Delta Fair, according to police. Matt Snyder, the fair’s safety director, said the ride’s computer detected a problem and immediately began a safety shutdown, but as it began to descend, the operator panicked and pressed a manual override button that released the safety restraints before it settled into its cradle. Owens told WHBQ the ride operator and fair officials tried to get the kids to “walk it off”. They are straight out lying to you that no one got hurt.
“‘It doesn’t change our perspective as far as coming out to the fair, but just looking at what we are getting on”, says Jonathon Williams.
Kira Pesh, who was on the ride with her sister, echoed Anna. We are going to go above and beyond to make sure that this does not occur again. “They didn’t even know they were going”, Kruger said. “I’m so glad we did not die”.
Of the 14 who fell off the ride, eight were taken to the hospital. Our apologies and condolences go out to the individuals on the ride involved, and also to everyone that was under the impression that we were trying to mislead you. “We were all holding on and everyone was screaming and crying”, Jordon told Fox 13 Memphis.
“As the ride was up in the air, it stopped completely moving, but it was still shaking and all the release belts came up”.

Earle Farrell, public information officer for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, initially reported that 14 people were thrown from the ride and were transported to hospitals.
