Delta State shooting suspect kills himself as police close in

According to Fox News, the killings are assumed to be connected and the result of a love triangle, but motive for the crime hasn’t been formally established yet.

According to Gautier investigators, their phone records show Lamb was in the northern part of the state near the college when he reached out to the police department. LaForge said he did not know Lamb personally.

Lamb started working at the university in 2009 and taught geography and education classes. He received a doctorate in education in the spring.

And Lamb lived with Prentiss.

The shooter is still at large, but the suspect has been identified as Shannon Lamb. About two hours or so after the initial lockdown, about 25 heavily armed police officers swept through the building, Abraham said. He had met him two years in the past, once they have been each new to the campus.

“She was completely devastated”, he said of his daughter.

And it didn’t make things any better knowing she was 3 hours away from her son. Prentiss was a nurse who worked for various companies online. There was no sign of anything amiss.

“Everybody’s phone just sort of went off at the same time”, Abraham said. “We were cutting up and throwing one-liners at each other”, he said.

Kyle Anthony, another Kansas classmate, said that Schmidt was a proud father who coached his son’s soccer team – despite knowing nothing about the sport – and posted stats and points scored by his three children on Facebook.

Lamb’s career prospects at Delta State may have taken a turn because of a policy change.

“We didn’t want it to happen this way – it wasn’t our intention for it to happen this way – but unfortunately, he made that decision”, Lamb said.
