DeMarcus Cousins Leads Sacramento Kings In Comeback Win Over Toronto Raptors

“I don’t think any of us in this locker room in our careers want to just throw a season away so we’re just working hard, playing hard, playing together”.

The first part of the challenge went amiss here Sunday night as the Raptors faded in the last 90 seconds and dropped a 107-101 decision to the Sacramento Kings to open a five-game swing.

After the Kings’ emotional come-back win against Toronto, Cousins could be seen ushering J.J.’s sister and mother, Nicole Clavo, into the Kings locker room to receive the team’s words of support and condolence. At the center of the rumor mill is DeMarcus Cousins from Sacramento Kings, who might be headed to Boston Celtics before long.

“It’s just unbelievable being able to watch his effort on a nightly basis”, Cousins said.

In the final two minutes, the Raptors displayed dismal shooting, failing to score from four straight possessions which left them 7-4.

And it’s not like Cousins is eschewing shots close to the basket in order to bomb threes.

The Toronto Raptors are coming off a two-game winning streak after playing the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Orleans Pelicans. “Until tonight, we have been (paying) good attention to detail on defensively and for whatever reason tonight we didn’t”. Kings star DeMarcus Cousins is a frequent supporter of Sacramento area sports and had attended football games at Grant High School on multiple occasions. Cousins provided complimentary courtside seats Sunday for Clavo’s mother and sister.

Cousins later apologized and claimed he was frustrated by losing, but this is his M.O.as an emotional powder keg. We consider all, but I can’t talk about other players on other teams. So it just touched home to me.

But it was in the third quarter that the Raps really turned it on as has been their custom for most of this year.
