DeMarcus Ware wins his 1st Defensive Player of Month honor
For Ray, it was the first sack of his National Football League career and he became the ninth Bronco of the year to record a sack.
And DeMarcus Ware has been at the forefront of that, earning AFC defensive player of the month honors.
Ware prepped at Auburn High School before starring for the Troy Trojans.
The Denver Broncos have gotten off to a 3-0 start this season, due in large part to the stifling play of their defense.
The seemingly ageless pass rusher leads the Broncos with 3 1/2 sacks this season, which also places him second in the NFL. Ware is 13th on the NFL’s all-time list with 130.5 career sacks.
Ware also had 11 quarterback hits in September-three more than any other player-and 10 tackles, the Broncos said. He was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week on four occasions as a player of the Dallas Cowboys.
Pressure yet again thrust a Broncos’ opposing quarterback into hard situations early in the game as OLB DeMarcus Ware, S T.J. Through the first three games of the season, the NFL franchise’s defense has allowed only 259 yards/per contest, which ranks as the fewest in the league.
