Ba, who now plays for Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League, broke his leg in a freakish accident in a game against Shanghai SIPG. He was taken off the pitch on a stretcher following the injury.

His coach at Shanghai Shenhua, Gregorio Manzano assured the 31-year-old that he would receive the medical treatment available.
After a fairly successful stint in the Premier League, Ba had moved to Besiktas in 2014.
Ba left Newcastle after scoring 29 goals in two years after Chelsea activated a £7million release clause in 2013.
“Terrible news to hear of Demba Ba’s injury today”.
The club’s official Twitter account also extended their best wishes to the former Blue.

Ba has scored 14 goals in 18 appearances for Shenhua.
