Demi Lovato Opened For Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton’s attempt to appeal to young women in Iowa Thursday night left some voters feeling shortchanged – they had come to hear a presidential candidate speak about the issues and instead got a Demi Lovato concert.
She’s played fun games on Ellen and been taught how to take the ideal selfie by Kim Kardashian West – and now, Hillary Clinton is getting a campaign assist from Demi Lovato! Instead, the Clinton campaign worked to recruit volunteers and turn cheering supporters into caucus-goers by the February 1 caucuses. Like: “‘We are we going to make things happen.'” she added.
“I don’t think there is a woman more confident than Hillary Clinton”, Lovato told the cheering crowd inside an auditorium at the University of Iowa.
An event in Rochester kicked off a full day in the Granite State, where Clinton appeared at the NARAL Pro-Choice New Hampshire Roe v. Wade Dinner in Concord, and at another town hall event at Manchester’s Hillside Middle School.
Clinton took the stage after Lovato performed three songs, but only spoke for five minutes.
“We started dating when I turned 18…Right after that, I went to rehab”, she said.
As the race tightens, Hillary Clinton turned to a 23-year-old pop star for a little boost of confidence.
After long waits to actually see Clinton, several students expressed frustration that her speech was so short and unremarkable, The Guardian reported.
Many of those in attendance Thursday night said they were still undecided about who they would caucus for in 11 days, but that Lovato’s endorsement of Clinton wouldn’t sway them either way.
