Democratic Senator Menendez announces opposition to Iran deal

Lawmakers will vote in September on GOP resolutions of disapproval that would block the deal.
He said he is opposed because Iran has violated various United Nations Security Council resolutions while advancing its nuclear program and that the agreement doesn’t require Iran to dismantle its nuclear infrastructure.

On the other hand, the next president to take office can still review the accord. And, in order to save the deal, 34 senators must vote in favor of the agreement, and Obama, as it stands, needs ten more votes.
“He is an Iran hawk”, Abdi said.
The Obama administration has been working to convince lawmakers before they return from summer recess next month to vote to support or disapprove the deal.
In his response, the Israeli prime minister used the comments as an example of why the nuclear deal with Iran creates an existential threat to the Jewish state.
