Democrats react to first GOP debate in Cleveland
The first Republican primary Debate is Thursday night, and we’ve been getting a number of questions about bars that will be showing it. We know this is Washington, the wonkiest town in America. In 2014, 51 percent of those aged 18 to 34 identified with or leaned toward identifying with the Democratic Party, while 35 percent of millennials said they identified with or leaned towards the GOP. He’s branded Republicans as “knuckle-dragging Neanderthals”; drawn parallels between the Tea Party and the Ku Klux Klan; and said of former US vice-president Dick Cheney: “I have trouble listening to what he says sometimes because of the blood that drips from his teeth while he’s talking”. I hadn’t been here in 38 years and I walked all around the town and was astonished by all the improvements and changes. These candidates have won elections in Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin: 12 states with 206 electoral votes.
The one candidate who really impressed me in terms of delivering a message that is going to help the Party win was John Kasich, because he talked about inclusion.
