Demonstrators at SFO loudly protest Trump’s immigration ban
Angry protesters are gathering at Kennedy Airport to denounce President Trump’s executive action against refugees.
Late on Saturday night a federal judge issued an emergency ruling that said stranded travellers could stay in the country following a legal challenge by the American Civil Liberties Union. It does not defeat the executive order entirely.
When Trump’s order went through, many of these people were mid-flight to their USA destination and when they arrived in the US they were detained under this new order.
Thousands of protesters turned out to Brooklyn’s Camden Plaza to await the judge’s ruling.

But there have been anecdotal reports of many people stuck in transit at airports around the world on their way to the US. It included green card and visa holders who were out of the country at the time of signing, banning them from returning for 90 days.

The protest was planned for 6 p.m. CST in O’Hare’s International Terminal 5, though dozens arrived at the airport hours earlier, including several volunteer attorneys who gathered to assist travelers entangled in the ban.
