Dennis Schroder benched after Dwight Howard tiff: ‘Don’t understand Coach’s decision’
Last June, Stephen Curry waved goodbye to a sell-out crowd in Cleveland that had just witnessed the Golden State Warriors claim a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals, a lead which had never been overcome.
On Monday night, they banked on an old reliable source – Andre Iguodala.
Steph Curry’s shooting woes continued early on.
“We were trying to make our own beat on the court”, he said.
“I didn’t like it”, Knicks big man Kristaps Porzingis said after his team lost to Golden State, 112-105. He played 35 minutes and attempted one 3-pointer.
Durant is expected to be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Clearly the Warriors overcame the dastardly trap set by the MSG entertainment staff and played inspired basketball in the third and fourth quarters on behalf of.the Warriors’ entertainment staff? It was also the right move as the Knicks, with Ron Baker playing the entire second quarter, erased a 12-point deficit while Porzingis was putting together a highlight reel. Credit to Golden State winning here. The Warriors were led by Klay Thompson’s 25 points and an efficient, team-oriented style of game that resulted in 36 assists in their initial 36 buckets.
Nevertheless, the defending Western Conference champs remain first in the league in scoring, point differential, assists, steals and blocks.
Thompson’s first basket of the game, a pull-up jumper in the third quarter, tied the game at 66-66. Golden State gave up 42 points in the 1st quarter but were able to lock down defensively, allowing just 24, 24, and 21 points in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters.
The match began with very successful Hawks in attack, led by an Imperial Dennis Schroder, who scored 19 points in this time at the court.
The topic of conversation after the game was Budenholzer benching Schroder.
“I don’t think anybody thinks now is the time”, Hornacek said on Sunday.
That meant the team was desperately in need of a win, but the opponent made that seem unlikely. “Our intensity and focus was not there”, Warriors coach said Thursday, via ESPN, before adding that the team had to learn to play without Durant.
Though both of the weekend games ended in losses, the Knicks looked invigorated by having players other than ‘Melo playing more pronounced roles in closing the game.
At one point, an unmarked Curry calmly drained a three as Schroder argued with center Dwight Howard. Millsap’s 3-point attempt fell off the rim at the buzzer.
Including Curry and the aforementioned Johnson, the top-10 all-time three-point list includes seven active players, so it will change in the coming seasons.
“We have a lot of talent in the locker room, a lot of versatility”, Curry said.
The loss drops Atlanta to 34-29 on the season.
