Denver Broncos Rumors: Brock Osweiler Starter With Peyton Manning Out Until
When the Patriots responded with a 47-yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski as time expired in regulation, Osweiler led the Broncos to a 48-yard touchdown run by C.J. Anderson to end the game.
“The progress has been good”.
Brady threw TD passes to tight end Rob Gronkowski and Scott Chandler following Britton Colquitt’s shanked 25-yard punt and Osweiler’s tipped interception at his own 15-yard line before the Broncos came in at the half trailing 14-7. They could seal that division with a win against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, but the Patriots may be tempted not to rush their leading receiver back with tougher, post-season games to come.
The Broncos (9-2) have beaten Chicago and New England in Osweiler’s two starts. “We’re fortunate to have a guy that’s a big athlete, bigger than the guys that are covering him”, McDaniels said. “I’m doing what Coach Kubiak asked me to do, is to try to get healthy. Having him there was a boost, I think, for everybody”.
Peyton Manning’s days in Denver are numbered.
At the end of the day, whether the Broncos decide to go back to Manning or not, it’s clear that the Osweiler era is ready to begin, and it’s here faster than a lot of us expected.
“Yeah, real concerned”, Kubiak said.
The veteran quarterback visited last week in North Carolina with Dr. Robert Anderson, who recommended Manning wear a cast on his left foot for a week. In 11 games played this season, Gronkowski has 57 receptions for 931 yards and nine touchdowns. Basically, he’s doing a great job with his opportunity, but the thing that Brock is doing the best, in my opinion, is understanding that he’s on a good football team.
Check out the pic – we’re not sure how many other 6’7 rocket-armed 17-year-olds attended Flathead High to give Brock any competition… but hey, they still got it right. And Brock knows that he’s the starting quarterback for this team, this week. Is he comfortable enough to go in there and battle with Trevor to be our two? “There’s things across the board that we need to do a better job of and we can do a better job of”. “For another about 12 hours, we’ll be enjoying this one, and then we’ll be on to the next one”, tackle Ryan Harris said….
Although Osweiler would get up, dust off the snow and keep right on going, you can bet Kubiak and general manager John Elway cringed, especially when Osweiler limped away after one hard hit.
