Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs Preview & Prediction
While many Denver Broncos fans are pointing a finger at quarterback Peyton Manning, guard Evan Mathis is pointing at himself. He’ll need to give his team more Thursday night if they to take down a Kansas City squad that upset Houston on the road last week in what was a rather easy win.
The reason that the Broncos won their game over the Ravens had nothing to do with Peyton Manning and their high powered offense, which was shooting blanks the entire game.
The Chiefs got out of the gates strong in Week 1, jumping out to a 27-6 lead over the Houston Texans, before holding on for a 27-20 victory. Coverage of the Broncos and Chiefs game airs on CBS and NFL Network with kickoff at 8:25 pm ET.
Peyton Manning spent the first 14 years of his career in Indianapolis, where he revitalized a franchise and brought home a Lombardi Trophy after the 2006 season. As the quarterback gets used to a new coaching staff and playbook, he is simply saying the offense is a work in progress and the team will improve. I am sure he will do just about everything in his power to keep up his winning streak against Kansas, even though he did look a bit ordinary and didn’t throw one touchdown pass in his game against the Ravens.
With the addition of wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, Kansas is looking better than ever. Manning’s reaction: “I’ll just tell you that Baltimore’s got a really good defense”.
If the Ravens want to be competitive this year and make a Super Bowl push, they have to be able to move the ball better, especially against elite defenses like the Broncos’. Kansas City seems to be utilizing the talent of tight end Travis Kelce more this season.
Manning is clearly not throwing the football as well as he used to, Kansas City will know that just by seeing the game film from Baltimore.
Johnson will have her usual tailgate party at Arrowhead Stadium, but she said, when the game starts, that’s when she’ll be torn.
