Derek Hough & Julianne Hough Return To ‘DWTS’ Season 23!
Derek and Julianne Hough are both returning to Dancing With the Stars for its upcoming 23rd season, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly. Julianne will return as a judge, while Derek and be back in ballroom as a pro dancer. “Broadway’s one of my plans, it’s in my cards, it’s happening, but right now it’s leaving me open”.
‘Plans change a little bit, so now I have some time to create some fun opportunities, some fun things, including Hairspray, ‘ he said. Due to his connection with NBC’s Hairspray Live! production, many believed that Derek would be sitting the season out but it appears that his schedule will permit him to appear on both.
Though Julianne Hough has been one of the pros the dancer, actress and singer will sit out the dancing part for “Dancing with the Stars” season 23. The multiple gold and bronze medal victor just isn’t sure she would have the time to commit to the show.
The brother and sister duo’s return to the show comes a few days after they were spotted at a dance studio together.
Derek – who bowed out of DWTS last winter after a whopping 16 seasons – pressed pause on his television career to pursue a starring role in Broadway’s revival of Singin’ In the Rain.
With this exciting new development, Season 23 is looking more and more like it’ll be a reunion season of sorts. The DWTS season 23 premiere airs Monday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. on ABC. According to Blasting News, So You Think You Can Dance alum Jenna Johnson is expected to debut as a pro.
