Dermot O’Leary returning to X Factor in 3 year deal
Dermot O’ Leary looks set for a return toThe X Factor.
Singer Olly and TV presenter Caroline faced heavy criticism for their performance as co-hosts, and a spokesperson for the show has now confirmed they will not return.
O’Leary, who quit X Factor in 2015, has been lined up to present Live at The Trattoria alongside Gino D’Acampo, according to the report.
The tabloid quotes one of those insiders as saying: “Dermot will come back to “The X-Factor”.
The 24-year-old One Direction star is hotly tipped to replace Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw on the next series of the ITV show when it airs later this year (16).
Nick reacted to the pair’s news on the red carpet at the BRIT Awards last night, defending their performance on the show after they received mixed reviews.
“Dermot is thinking things through and a big money deal will be offered to try and tempt him back”. Talks are under way on his deal but everything is positive.
“Celebrity Big Brother” presenter Emma Willis is now the favourite to be named as Murs’ and Flack’s successors.
“We’ve done Britain’s Got Talent and we work well with Simon and have done for years”, Ant told Mirror Online. “You need someone really good who can cope with live TV”. Bosses are reportedly lining up the popular presenter to make a comeback for this year’s series, following the departure ofOlly Murs and Caroline Flack.
Brace yourself for this news – but there is a chance that this year’s X Factor will be the last, as the show’s contract is up for renewal with broadcaster ITV. “Details will be announced in due course”.
