Dermot O’Leary to host new BBC show
Dermot O’Leary has reportedly landed himself a brand new presenting job this week.
After his departure from The X Factor rumours have been rife that presenter Dermot O’Leary will pop up as a new host on BBC motoring show Top Gear.
The best couples will face Top Gear legend The Stig in an attempt to win prize money.
The new show is set to hit our screens on Saturday evenings on BBC One in the coming months and is being billed as “funny, fast-paced and action-packed”.
The popular host has joined forces with the stunt driver for The Getaway auto, a Saturday night programme which will see families compete against each other in driving challenges.
O’Leary said: “This is a show that’s really about relationships”.
The Getaway auto is also Dermot’s first big TV series since leaving The X Factor on ITV.

“BBC One Controller Charlotte Moore, said: “‘The Getaway Car’ is a really fun, new adrenaline charged entertainment show for BBC One.
They have signed a deal with the online giant to make three series of 12 episodes which will be available to Amazon Prime customers from next year.
“We’re hugely excited about this show and its potential to follow other successful British TV formats onto an global stage”, said Tracy Forsyth, genre director of factual entertainment and entertainment content at BBC Worldwide. It’s a warm show that will stretch a family’s patience with those they love most in the world.
BBC Worldwide is the global distributor of The Getaway vehicle, and holds the format rights.
The show will put their friendships and relationships on the line as they are pushed to the edge and battle against one of the best drivers on the road.
