Deron Williams Officially Signs With Team

At the trade deadline this season, the Celtics stood pat rather than pay exorbitantly for either Indiana’s Paul George or Chicago’s Jimmy Butler. The East-leading squad signed guard Deron Williams Monday, and it could be on the verge of adding another big name in center Andrew Bogut. Williams played with Bogut and smiled when asked if he had any pull in getting the big man signed by the Cavs. “So I went on the court and felt like I had enough in the tank still, so that’s when I chose to play in the game”.

It would put some minds at ease if Cleveland had a back up point guard – and it looks like the Cavs may land the recently bought-out Deron Williams – but the impact in the playoffs would be low.
