Derrick Rose ‘Extremely Doubtful’ To Play Against Suns
Kirk Hinrich and E’Twaun Moore both saw time at point guard following Rose’s departure, though Chicago will likely lean more heavily on Jimmy Butler if he sits. The Pacers have to get more from a bench that’s averaging just 28.1 points per game.
The Bulls shot just 32.5 percent in the second half, and were out-rebounded by the smaller Pacers, 26-23, in that span, all playing a part in the comeback along with George and Ellis catching fire.
The Pacers now look to get back on track as they travel to Philadelphia for the second game of their brief two-game road trip to face off against the 76ers (0-11) on Wednesday night. Paul George averages 24.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
GRIZZLIES 122, THUNDER 114 (at Memphis, Tenn.) – Newcomer Mario Chalmers scored 16 of his season-high 29 points in the fourth quarter to help Memphis overcome 40 by the Thunder’s Russell Westbrook. Monta Ellis leads in assists with 4.9 and in steals with 1.8 per game.
But George couldn’t increase his 27-point night, due to Butler’s outstretched arm that disrupted the last chance for the Pacers, leaving George on the floor complaining and frustrated, sealing the Bulls’ win.
Maybe it’s the personnel he’s played with or maybe it’s the slower style that Pacers coach Frank Vogel generally likes to play, but George’s production comes mostly within the flow of the game.
When the Indiana Pacers originally announced that they wanted Paul George to play more of the power forward position this season, it did not go over well with George. The 76ers will give it another shot when they host the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. They were 20-for-32 from the line. The Pacers then return home to play against their division rival, the Milwaukee Bucks, on November 21st. The contest will feature two of the league’s brightest young stars when Jimmy Butler and Paul George go head to head. “I have confidence in myself that this is the level I should be playing at regardless against which team or who is guarding me”, George told reporters.
The Sixers committed a season-high 27 turnovers during Monday’s 92-86 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
At last we have it. The six regular season games that George played last April showed a man not entirely trusting of his body, not at all comfortable launching himself off of a leg that had broken cleanly. As a team, IN had a workable 13, but proved too much when Chicago had only eight themselves.
