Derrick Rose suffers orbital fracture, return to be determined after surgery
Yes you read that correctly!
Rose suffered the injury on the first day of practice for the Bulls after reportedly getting an elbow to the face. The thing with Derrick Rose is that he often means well, but his honesty usually just gives his critics the ability to make their points about him.
So it looks like everything will be okay this time, but it is just another in the long list of surgeries and aliments that the 2010-2011 National Basketball Association MVP has suffered through. When the guy is on the court with no limitations, he can be an absolute nightmare.
Rose underwent successful surgery for the ACL tear. But that’s another story for another day. We don’t know how much he’ll be able to do even when he’s in his recovery mode, but he’ll still be here learning.
To misunderstand Rose would be to easily dismiss “the race card” here.
As for when Rose will return to the court, that will be determined after the procedure.
This time however it does not have anything with his knees. The great thing is it’s not structural damage that’s going to keep him out.
With the Chicago Bulls’ announcement of Derrick Rose’s recent injury putting a damper on both team and fan moral, many are wondering where he ranks in the team now. In recent comments, Rose has said he is playing to increase his worth as a free agent in two years.
Whether it’s Aaron Brooks, Kirk Hinrich, E’Twaun Moore or even Jimmy Butler, there won’t be any shortage of players willing to step forward as a playmaker in practice or in preseason, which will be used for experimentation anyways.
“He’s still in a good place”, Hoiberg said.
The Bulls return virtually intact after winning 50 games and losing to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
A big key, of course, is Rose’s health. And the injuries also seem to have altered the mindset of one Derrick Rose.
But Rose’s eye injury may be the least of his worries. Who in the world would want a player this prone to injury.
Decisions on whether a shot is a two or three-point attempt will be made by offcourt National Basketball Association referees, the league said Wednesday among several modifications to the instant-replay process.
That, despite talk of future contracts and his son’s well-being, is Rose’s primary goal. And that’s unfortunate for the Bulls as an organization. “I’ve just got to take this, use it as fuel, and the season is around the corner”.
That all changed in 2014-15, when the Bulls’ front office issued minutes limitations for Noah and Rose, limitations Thibodeau publicly groused about all year. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
“I know he’s tough, but it was one of those plays, especially in practice, where everybody’s going hard”.
