Destiny 2 Won’t Make It This Year
So what more could fans possibly want in this game? According to Kotaku, this is due to Bungie might not have defined yet what was coming down the road, in addition to reports saying that plans for the game’s future were in “flux”.
Although Destiny 2 hasn’t been announced, a contract made public during a court case between Activision and former Call of Duty heads Jason West and Vince Zampella revealed that a core Destiny title would release every two years, with expansions dropping in the intervening years. This is what is known about the possible Destiny 2 Release Date, and why there could be a delay or arrival for this year.
However, apparently even The Taken King was redrafted several times, with several features removed including a new raid, before it was released.
It’s claimed that Bungie’s plans keep changing and that there’s still no agreement on what will come out this year in the way of new DLC, if there’s no sequel. Dague has also seen the concept art for the sequel and the new exotic weapons, and is pretty optimistic of the sequel.
You can already buy new dance moves in “Destiny” (really!) that cost a bit of money. Good news, we suppose, as we’re not sure how much more of a beating Bungie can take from the internet. With no Destiny 2 later this year, and no word on any new substantial content for the franchise planned for this year here’s hoping Bungie is able to please its many fans who’ve invested heavily into the Destiny brand. From there, they could use the announcement to create buzz for a holiday release of the game.
