Destiny’s Halloween Event Starts Today
Bungie has pushed a Halloween event live in Destiny that’s much better than last year’s pumpkin headgear.
Masks aside, “Destiny” players are also celebrating three new Halloween-style dance moves, which are now available for purchase with Silver, “Destiny’s” new in-game currency introduced this month.
Today, Bungie released it’s Halloween event for Destiny: The Taken King called the Festival of the Lost.
The questline consists of several parts. By defeating enemies – both in and out of the Crucible – you’ll gather candy, and when your bag’s full, you can return to Eva and snag a new mask and a few other goodies.
The Festival of the Lost has arrived with moody candles blazing in Destiny Year 2, which means new quests, objective-based loot, and a tasteful garnish of microtransactions.
Mask Task: Complete Public Events, collect engrams, and fall off the Tower while wearing masks.
There’s other stuff to check out as well, including the redecorated Tower (accompanied by new sound effects, like screams and wolf howls). Also be sure to take a look at the mask Cayde is wearing (or see it in the gallery above), and check with the Postmaster for a consumable item that changes your respawn animation.
Guardians are still solving the mysteries of the events, but it seems dismantling legendary (purple) masks will reward you with rare glue that can be used to “upgrade” a different rare (blue) mask.
