Destiny’s new ‘Damage Referee’ will punish laggy players
Freelance 6v6 and Freelance 3v3 are mixed-mode playlists designed for solo players only – no Fireteams allowed.
It looks like the rumors of a new expansion are gathering steam, as the game’s player base aren’t too pleased with the lack of content, so hopefully Bungie will be able to deliver on that rumor and do a darn good job at it.
Bungie brought this change because they wanted to increase the use of Primary weapons at match-start.
We have to say at this point that we are grateful to Bungie for finally introducing these changes.
More general changes to the Crucible coming with the update will include changes to matchmaking. Starting next week, Bungie will finally give us lone wolves the love we deserve – in the form of our very own playlist for solo players only. The same lag-reduction methods that have been applied to the Iron Banner, Skirmish, Rumble, and Control are jumping to the Trials of Osiris as early as tomorrow. Guardians with a strong ping might discover that their weapons really feel extra dependable, kills are acknowledged faster and slower gamers develop into much less irritating to battle.
There are plenty of sizable changes coming next week, especially in the Crucible.
One thing’s for sure, Ubisoft’s The Division is undoubtedly going to encroach on Destiny’s turf in terms of offering its player base a similar experience, so hopefully the feedback will help them to develop new content going forward. This vaguely featured detail will seemingly weight split-second exchanges in favor of players with better internet connections.
In other news for PvP players, Bungie will introduce a Damage Referee, which is created to improve your experience if you’re on a bad connection. Those chosen as runners during the Daughters of Oryx will no longer have their cameras automatically adjusted.
The update will be released next week on February 9, at which point the Crimson Days event will kick off. For more information, see Bungie’s blog post on the update. However we are not particularly excited about them. Snipers, you may want to sit down for this one.
