Determined to stop river waters, for our farmers: Modi
This is a very harsh decision in a country where majority population has no access to banks or internet banking etc. “I think the pain of such people is that the government did not give a chance to make any preparation”, he said at a book launch function in Delhi. Coming days will be interesting!
The prime minister also urged the youth to become part of the government’s move to build a cashless society which could be a step toward eradicating corruption and the flow of black money. “The cure to that disease can not be simple”, he said.
I am grateful to people for supporting demonetisation despite having to undergo difficulties: PM.
Critics of the move have included former prime minister Manmohan Singh – whose economic reforms are credited with rescuing India from the brink of bankruptcy in the early 1990s – who said the decision could shave two percentage points off the country’s gross domestic product. “The entire world is watching this move”.
“Bank branches and officials are involved in this process”.
“One of the soldiers wrote to me that this year they did not feel lonely while celebrating Diwali at the borders. But, don’t use poor people for your designs”, he warned.
He also appealed to the people to be patient in the face of inconvenience caused by the demonetisation. “We can start with a less cash society”, Modi said. “Don’t do anything because of which the poor suffer because of your actions”, he said.
“Demonetization is a gamble for Modi. The nation’s regular citizen is a soldier in this battle. The citizen feels that in the last 70 years the people who have misused these laws have drowned the country in corruption”. “I will ensure that my farmers get what is rightfully theirs”.
PM Modi also encouraged his audience to use their mobile phones to make payments.
Modi said demonitisation will help labourers and protect their rights. 73 percent of them gave it five-star rating of brilliance. “Through mobile phones and e-wallets, you can avoid giving these cuts”, he added. He hammered home that there are option where neither smartphones nor internet connections were necessities to carry out cashless transactions. “You know because of corruption, black money, the middle class had been exploited and poor people were deprived of their rights”.
Cashless society: PM Narendra Modi urged famers, labourers and small and medium business holders to grab the opportunity and migrate to digital India. “I am committed to this”, he said addressing a rally here. We are such a massive nation, with 125 crore people. However, the RBI has said these are valid and can be used.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will share his thoughts in the monthly programme “Mann Ki Baat”. “Such a massive participation in the Board exams indicates that these students of Jammu and Kashmir are focussing on a bright future through studies and proceed on the path of development”, he said.
