Detroit police seeking group of men suspected of robbing couples, gang-raping
In the first case, a group of six men robbed a couple at gunpoint.
Police in Detroit are searching for a group of men who allegedly attacked at least two couples walking down a street, forcing the male to watch as his female companion was gang raped. The men reportedly forced the couple behind a nearby business where they were robbed and stripped of their clothes.
“It’s horrifying”, police Deputy Chief Charles Fitzgerald said.
Police say the violent men took turns sexually assaulting the woman and when the attack ended, the victims ran nude to a nearby liquor store for help. He added that the robbers even took their clothing away.
The second assault unfolded in a similar manner, but with four assailants, police said.
According to Detroit Police, they are looking for six armed men who are still at large. Cassandra Lewis explained.
Suspect one in Thursday’s incidents was described as a 5-foot, 8-inch-tall male in his early 20s, with a medium complexion, mustache and goatee.
“One of the men produced a gun, pointed it at both victims and advised them to go to an alley”. Both victims complied. They were forced to the ground. “Their clothing was taken”.
Police said the attackers might have been spotted near a blue Ford-model vehicle before or after the assaults.
The latest attacks on young couples came just days after another such incident was reported from the Detroit area. The victims were a 19-year-old woman and 21-year-old man. Both sexual assaults bear striking similarities to a prior encounter on July 11 that left a woman raped and a man robbed.
Residents in the area want the group of men caught immediately.
In a developing story, a gang of rapists in Detroit is terrorizing citizens in the crime-ridden city.
“Use your sixth sense”, he said.
