Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Buck Farmer makes franchise history against the Cubs
He pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits with two strikeouts and a walk. In his last five starts he has three losses and two no-decisions while permitting 20 runs in 25 2-3 innings.

Much has changed for the Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers over the past year. Playing in a National League park meant Detroit designated hitter Victor Martinez was not in the lineup Tuesday but was available to pinch hit…. We just ran into a good pitcher and that was the difference in the game.
Tonight’s pitching matchup is Chicago’s Jon Lester against Detroit’s Daniel Norris. Chicago has two scheduled inter-league games remaining – both makeups: Cleveland (Aug. 24) and Kansas City (Sept. 28).
