Dez Bryant breaks foot, could miss Patriots game
For the Giants, two-time super bowl champion quarterback Eli Manning had a mediocre game. “He’s the best”. Romo was working with players who had nowhere near the same resume as Bryant.
Dez Bryant is coming off a great season for the Cowboys.
Guard Ron Leary is missing practice with the groin injury that kept him out of the end of the Giants game, the Cowboys are calling him day-to-day.
With Dez Bryant sidelined for an extended period of time, the Dallas Cowboys have opted to look for help at the wide receiver position. If Dez misses the minimum four weeks, then the Cowboys will have to face four potentially tough matchups without him – the Eagles, Falcons, Saints and Patriots are on the docket before the Boys’ Week 6 bye.
He could have taken the sack, which would have at least kept the clock running and with the Cowboys out of timeouts, but instead threw the ball away. “That’s 100 per cent on me”.
Manning took the blame for the Giants.
Jennings followed the order anyway, and later said that he could have scored easily on one of the runs if he wanted to.
Bryant, who finished with five receptions for 48 yards, limped to the locker room in the second half.
Bryant has had problems with his leg before and the Cowboys actually tried to control his reps to condition Bryant. “You can tell he’s very poised and you definitely don’t want the ball in his hands in the final two minutes”. “But whenever that’s the case, the defense has to step up”. That would mean the questionable call on third-and-goal would not have been as egregious, as the Giants would have already held a six point lead. “You can’t replace Dez Bryant“, Romo said after the game. “Tremendous amount of confidence in that huddle, and a lot of it comes from the confidence the quarterback projects to the team”.
With all of the negative things that happened with the receivers this week, we can not forget about the solid play that each of the players that we previously mentioned had. He played in 13 games in 2012, ending with 53 catches for 692 yards and three touchdowns. He signed his new deal just before the start of training camp but did not play in any preseason games.
Dallas won by the narrowest margin against the Giants, 27-26. He’s been one of the more dominating forces in the game and without a doubt the Cowboys will miss that. Tony Romo gave 16 snaps to the new workhorse, Joseph Randle, for 65 yards.
