Dez Bryant returns to Cowboys practice, but will he play vs. Eagles?
Two of the team’s most talented players fully healed because the Cowboys current 5-game win streak meant no rush to their recoveries.
That wasn’t the best thing that happened in the bye weekend. The Morning Ledger reported that it may not be if Romo gets traded, but when.
Sure, Prescott has benefited from one of the NFL’s best offensive lines and the league’s leading rusher in fellow rookie Ezekiel Elliott. Wentz is 4-2 with eight touchdown passes and three interceptions, while completing 118 of 185 passes for 1,324 yards.
Dez Bryant was seen catching passes and running routes Monday in practice, a sign that the Pro Bowl wide receiver could be ready to return from a knee injury he suffered against the Bears on September 25.
Bryant has been out the past three games with a hairline fracture in his knee but returned to practice on Monday.
During their week of non-play, their standing in the NFC vaulted all the way to the top. Once a safety comes forward, the passing game opens up, and play action becomes devastating. He appears to be completely healed from the back injury suffered in the preseason. “And, he’s going to get you right in a couple of different aspects”. Dak is doing everything that’s been asked of him.
So while everyone is talking about Romo and Prescott around the sports world, Dallas fans can sit back and watch something special with the run game. Jones is known for being extremely loyal and nearly like a father figure to his players, and Romo is his number one guy. The Cowboys can get to the Playoffs with or without Bryant, most likely.
Of course, the Cowboys probably don’t mind the idea of Romo’s return being delayed, there is growing evidence that the team would like to stick with Dak Prescott as long as he’s winning games. Fisher reports that, unlike in years past, the Dallas rookies weren’t on the hook for the bill. The Cowboys run the ball, controlling the line of scrimmage and limiting the number of possessions. The move would also help the salary cap issues in Dallas, allowing the team to use that money on the defense during the off season.
Dallas has not been successful bringing pressure up front as much as they have in years past. Five of the Philadelphia Eagles last nine losses have come on the road.
But first, Prescott needs to keep playing well enough to make Garrett’s decision easy.
Now that speculation has shifted to Romo, who might not be as fortunate.
