DGCA sets up panel to probe Rahul Gandhi plane incident
Asserting that Congress will sweep Karnataka in the upcoming assembly elections, party President Rahul Gandhi today released its manifesto in the state.
The voting for the high-pitched elections will be held on May 12 and counting will be held on May 15.
In a bid to retain power in Karnataka, the ruling Congress on Friday promised to create one crore jobs across the southern state in its manifesto.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to join the electoral battle and begin his whirlwind poll tour of the state from May first which may continue until May 10.
A two-member team has already been set up to investigate the matter.
Chief minister Siddaramaiah, meanwhile, claimed, “Congress will win majority again in the state”.
In yet another goof-up, the BJP pointed at the “error” in the Congress Manifesto as was tweeted by the Congress president from his handle, accusing Gandhi to have committed a “Manifesto Scam”. “Our manifesto is their “Mann ki Baat”, he added. Patra said, “I don’t consider this manifesto a manifesto”.
Reacting to it, the BJP said sarcastically that the video showed the “new” thinking of the grand old party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. The flight, which took off from New Delhi around 9:20 am, faced unexpected technical errors. Gandhi landed around Thursday noon and Modi called him soon after. According to his aide Kaushal Vidyarthee, the plane suddenly tilted heavily to the left, lost altitude and shuddered violently with a “clanking noise”. PM Modi, who is now in China to hold informal meetings with Chinese President XI Jinping, reportedly asked Gandhi if he was fine after the flight scare, NDTV reported, quoting sources.
As per the sources, BJP says in his tweet that the Congress model is working on the mantra of “maximum division and minimum rule”. “Who else believes in Vande Mataram than Congress. Vande Mataram started to be sung from the 1896 Congress session”, he told reporters in Bengaluru.
